After scoring with four seconds remaining to edge Mesa Community College, 26-24, in Mesa, Ariz., the Ricks College football team accepted a bowl bid for the Nov. 18 Real Dairy Centennial Bowl in Pocatello, Idaho.
Ricks, 8-2, finished second in the Western States Football League, which consists of junior colleges in Idaho, Utah and Arizona. Glendale Community College of Arizona won the title with an 8-0 conference record. Glendale will host the Valley of the Sun Bowl Nov. 24 in Glendale, Ariz. Dixie College, which finished in a tie for third in the WSFL with Arizona Western and Mesa colleges, will be the host team for the Dixie Rotary Bowl Dec. 3 in St. George, Utah.
