Attendance at the recent 1988 Hill Cumorah Pageant, "America's Witness for Christ," was likely boosted by a joint effort of missionaries in the New York Rochester Mission and members of the Rochester New York Stake.
Stake and full-time missionaries teamed with Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood holders, Relief Society members and Young Women July 16 to issue personal, door-to-door invitations to the pageant that evening. Some 140-150 Church members went two by two throughout the community, each pair having a designated location."Overall, the approach was very warmly received as a non-confrontational invitation," said Richard Carmack, a member of the stake and a former Sweden Stockholm missionary. "It felt good to be tracting again."
