Henry Marsh, 34, became the second LDS athlete to qualify for his fourth Olympics Games July 22 by finishing second in the steeplechase at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, Ind.
His feat matches that of L.J. Silvester, an LDS discus thrower, who qualified for four Olympics during the 1960s and 1970s. Marsh is one of three Latter-day Saints to earn spots on the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team that will compete in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.On July 23, Doug Padilla won the 5,000-meter run at the trials, and Ed Eyestone qualified for the marathon squad last spring. All three are returned missionaries.
