New stakes have been created in Medellin, Colombia, and Salina, Kan.
Elder James M. Paramore of the Presidency of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiated in the creation of the Medellin Colombia Stake June 5. It is the ninth stake in Colombia.Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Council of the Twelve presided at the creation of the Salina Kansas Stake May 29, which makes four stakes in Kansas.
Elsewhere, stake presidencies were reorganized in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Norman, Okla.; and Pocatello, Idaho.

MEDELLINS COLOMBIA STAKE: (June 5, 1988) Created from a district of the Colombia Cali Mission. President - Arnold Porras M., 37 head of publicity for a laboratory, former district president and counselor, branch president, and bishop, married Fanny Vargas, four children. Counselors - Cesar Julio Rendon Q., 43, business owner, former district president, and branch president, married Maria Gilma Sanchez Galvis, two children; Pedro Nel Cardena Z., 36, former branch president and counselor, and branch Sunday School president, married Maria Rubiela Garcia Echeverry, four children.
SALINA KANSAS STAKE: (May 29, 1988) Created in a division of the Topeka and Wichita Kansas stakes. President - Thomas R. Coleman, 41, clinical psychologist, former stake president's counselor, bishop and counselor, and ward Young Men president, married Carolyn Hyer, seven children. Counselors - Edward Lyman Skidmore, 55, soil scientist with U.S. Department of Agriculture and adjunct professor of agronomyu at Kansas State University, former high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, and Scoutmaster, married Velma Williams, six children; Jack Lee Davis, 53, facility manager with aerospace contractor, bishop, and branch president, married Elaine Elizabeth McLeod, four children.

NORMAN OKLAHOMA STAKE: (June 19, 1988) President - Henry Jerrell Chesney, 55, chief executive officer of board of regents of Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma A&M Colleges, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake Sunday School president's counselor, and bishop, married Peggy Joyce Bergman, three children. Counslors - James H. Kitchens, 46, construction company president, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, and priests quorum adviser, married Rosemary Lundwall, 10 children; Monte M. Deere, 47, real estate developer, former mission president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and ward mission leader, married Sharron Gale Budzinsky, four children.
POCATELLO IDAHO ALAMEDA STAKE: (June 5, 1988) President - Gail W. Ockey, 53, institute od religion director, former stake president's counselor, stake mission president, and bishop, married Marjorie Doneet VanDam, seven children. Counselors - Arley D. Lish Jr., 53, maintenance supervisor, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, and Sunday School teacher, married Veah J. Van Orden, four children; John Amos Crooks, 52, vice president of auditing and credit examination, former stake executive secretary, high councilor, elders quorum president, and high priest group leader, married Jalair L.
