- General Authorities mingled with men and boys among the congregation in an attitude of relaxed fellowship as they waited for the priesthood session to begin. Elder James E. Faust even took a picture of a news photographer and his friend using the photographer's own camera.
President Ezra Taft Benson did not address the session. But he came to the pulpit and spoke a resounding "Amen!" after his counselor, President Gordon B. Hinckley, delivered a stirring warning against drug abuse.Elder Robert E. Wells of the First Quorum of the Seventy gave the invocation, and Elder Spencer J. Condie, sustained last April to the Second Quorum of the Seventy, gave the benediction. Music was by a combined men's choir from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Mormon Youth Chorus.
