- The purpose of the Sunday School is to strengthen gospel scholarship by developing a deeper understanding of the scriptures.
The Sunday School is an organization where every member of the Church age 12 and older can study the scriptures, and relate those sacred teachings to their own lives, said Elder Hugh W. Pinnock of the First Quorum of the Seventy and general Sunday School president.Focusing upon the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Sunday School provides the scriptural background for all the activities of the Church.
