A year ago in the West Jordan Utah West Stake, a meeting was held in connection with stake conference for children and youths over age 8. Each received a copy of the Book of Mormon with a challenge from Pres. Laurence F. Holgate to read it every day during the coming year. On Dec. 1 of this year, a reception was held for the young people who met the challenge, and their parents.
A letter was sent to President Ezra Taft Benson telling about the challenge and signed by more than 300 young people who had fulfilled the challenge. At a testimony meeting Sunday, Dec. 3, many of the young people testified about the impact the book had in their lives, according to David Lewis, stake public communications director.
