24 high school seniors earn BYU's Benson Scholarships

BYU has awarded prestigious four-year Ezra Taft Benson Scholarships to 24 high school seniors from Massachusetts to Hawaii.
Outgoing university president Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, recently called to the First Quorum of the Seventy, announced the names of 12 young men and 12 young women chosen on the basis of superior scholarship, leadership ability, high moral character and service to school, community and Church.The scholarships, first awarded as the David O. McKay scholarships in the mid-1960s, bear the name of the current president of the Church.

Atkinson, Bedford, Mass.; Christie Janeen Banks, Vienna, Va.; Clark Wayne Barrett, Provo, Utah; Trent Davis Beal, West Valley City, Utah; Joanna Michele Brooks, Santa Ana, Calif.; Clarion Cundick, Springfield, Va.; Dawn Dequer, Monrovia, Calif.; Tom Huxford, Monmouth, Ore.; Jonathon Green, Goleta, Calif.; R. Bryce Inouye, Scarsdale, N.Y.; Krista Johnson, Reno, Nev.; Laura Johnson, Reno, Nev.; Nina E. Mangelson, Papillion, Neb.; John Edwin Miner, Evansville, Ind.; Randall T. Peterson, Naperville, Ill.; Aimee Diane Severson, Orinda, Calif.; Craig G. Rogers, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jennifer Taylor, Bountiful, Utah; Christopher Lee Walton, Orem, Utah; Dean Wheeler, West Valley City, Utah; Amy Elizabeth Worlton, Lehi, Utah.
