Jose S. Ojeda, 87, called in August 1962 as the first patriarch in Peru, died May 16.

Before being called as patriarch by then-Elder Gordon B. Hinckley of the Council of the Twelve, Brother Ojeda served in the Church as a stake president, branch president and Sunday School teacher.He spent his career as an air traffic controller at airports in Arequipa and Lima.
