Pres. Thomas Young Jr. claims a unique distinction for the Canada Calgary Mission over which he presides: Two missionaries there are Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith. Elder Joseph Fielding Smith III, a great-grandson of the late President Joseph Fielding Smith, is from Salt Lake City, as is Elder Hyrum M. Smith, a distant relative of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Also among the missionaries are Elder Michael Alan Parks from Ovid, Idaho, and Elder Michael Allen Park from Longmont, Colo., who give the mission president plenty of mental exercise trying to keep them differentiated.
