First Presidency devotional to celebrate yule

The annual First Presidency Christmas devotional will be held Sunday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. MST, in the Tabernacle on Temple Square, and telecast over the Church satellite network.

Featuring a Christmas message by President Gordon B. Hinckley, first counselor in the First Presidency, the program will be telecast to some 2,500 meetinghouses in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. President Thomas S. Monson, second counselor, will conduct.The devotional will also feature Christmas music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, under the direction of Jerold Ottley, as well as audience participation in the singing of Christmas carols.

The devotional will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. over the Church network and on KBYU-TV in Provo, Utah.

"We pray that this devotional will increase our spiritual awareness this Christmas season, and that it will help all of us to better follow Him whose birth we celebrate," said President Howard W. Hunter in a letter to priesthood leaders.
