The First Presidency has announced the calling of a new mission president to serve in the Michigan Dearborn Mission, which will officially become the Michigan Detroit Mission on Dec. 1. Pres. Edmund DeMar Baron is replacing Arnie Ferrin, who had been released for medical reasons.

Edmund DeMar Baron, 55, Tustin 5th Ward, Orange California Stake; presently serving as missionary in the England Manchester Mission; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, temple ordinance worker and Explorer adviser; retired investment partner; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of Edmund Marion and Anna Marie Hunt Baron; married Marylyn Chapman; five children. She is currently serving with her husband as a missionary in the England Manchester Mission; former Relief Society president and teacher, stake and ward Young Women president's counselor and adviser, and temple ordinance worker; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Truman Purser and Hannah Gwen Hymas Chapman.
