The love of President Ezra Taft Benson and other General Authorities for members of the Church was described Sunday afternoon by Elder John Sonnenberg in impromptu remarks.
"When President Benson says, `I love you, my brethren,' from the depths of his heart he is proclaiming to us the true significance of love for our fellowmen," said Elder Sonnenberg, who was released Saturday afternoon after five years' service in the Second Quorum of the Seventy. He commented that one star, the North Star, is a literal light to the world and is most valuable in giving direction to travelers. Similarly, the Church leaders are spiritual guiding lights. I testify they are men of God. I bear witness that there is, figuratively speaking, a North Star leading us today - a beloved prophet of God. Look to him. He will point you to the way of truth and righteousness. Look to the Savior, for He will give you life eternal."
