The newly renovated $1 million Carthage Jail complex was dedicated June 27 - 145 years from the time that the Prophet Joseph Smith was martryed in 1844.
A new statue of Joseph and Hyrum, standing close together "as brothers might in times of trouble, supporting each other and loving each other," has been placed on the grounds of the Carthage, Ill., block.Stories and photos of the dedication are on pages 3, 8-9.
