Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Council of the Twelve summarized the week's activities as he delivered the final address June 22.

He emphasized: "Help your missionaries see that they must come to love the things the Lord loves. Their obedience, their service, their commitment will then grow from love for the Lord and not from fear, or habit, or desire to measure up to parents' expectations."This begins to stretch their hearts to love God's children. . . . Let us never forget that love is the essence and evidence of a true disciple."

Elder Wirthlin also observed: "Our Church does not, and will not in any way, compromise its position. It never at any time falters, hesitates, or shows any reluctance to bear an unwavering testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ.

"The state of the world being what it is, each member of the Church must take advantage of every opportunity to testify of the Savior and to teach gospel truths."
