Shelly Schaerrer, a member of the Northridge 6th Ward, Orem Utah Northridge Stake, was named Athlete of the Year for Utah by the Multiple Sclorosis Society on Sept. 26. A junior at the University of Utah, Shelly has been an All-American four times in gymnastics and took 2nd place all-around in the NCAA this year after scoring a 9.85 on her last floor routine. She has also been named Deseret News Athlete of the Year and was the first gymnast to score a 9.9 in the history of Utah gymnastics.
