The First Presidency has announced that temples in England and Switzerland will be closed for renovation for an indefinite period of time, beginning April 1.
The Swiss Temple, located in Zollikofen, a northern suburb of Bern, was completed and dedicated in 1955.The London Temple, situated 25 miles south of London, was completed and dedicated in 1958.
Two other temples are also undergoing renovation.
The Alberta Temple in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, has been closed since May 1988; and the Oakland Temple in California has been closed for renovation for the past year.
