BYU Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer and teammate Peter Tuipulotu were baptized members of the Church Feb. 6 at a service attended by about 200 people.
No public announcement was made prior to the ceremony.Detmer, a junior with a year of eligibility remaining, owns numerous NCAA passing records, and last season led the Cougars to the Western Athletic Conference championship and appearance in the Holiday Bowl.
Tuipulotu is a junior running back who also will return for the Cougars next season.
