Paul R. Cheesman, 70, author of several books about ancient America and the Book of Mormon, died Nov. 13. He wrote and produced two films used in LDS visitors centers: "Ancient America Speaks" and "Before Columbus." A retired professor of religion at BYU, he served as president of the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission 1980-1983.

At the time of his death, he and his wife, Millie, were serving at the New York Visitors Center, where he was director. He returned to Utah for bypass surgery after suffering a heart attack in New York. Funeral services will be Nov. 22 at the Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake center.
