The five members of the Second Quorum of the Seventy called to the First Quorum of the Seventy are Elders Monte J. Brough, Harold G. Hillam, L. Lionel Kendrick, Alexander B. Morrison and L. Aldin Porter.

Elder Brough, 51, has served as a General Authority since October 1988 and currently serves as second counselor in the Asia Area presidency. He is a native of Randolph, Utah, and a graduate of the University of Utah where he also earned a doctorate in business administration. Prior to his full-time Church calling, he directed business operations in computer services, wholesale distribution, real estate, ranching and investments. He has served as a bishop, mission president, regional representative and Young Men general board member.Elder Hillam, 55, was called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy in March 1990 and is currently first counselor in the Brazil Area presidency. Before his call as a General Authority he had been an Idaho Falls, Idaho, orthodontist for many years and was active in dental and orthodontic associations. The Sugar City, Idaho, native has served as a stake president, regional welfare agent, mission president and regional representative.

Elder Kendrick, 59, was called as a General Authority in April 1988 and currently serves as president of the Philippines/Micronesia Area. He is a native of Baton Rouge, La., and holds bachelor's and master's degrees and a doctorate in education from Louisiana State University. He taught school in Louisiana and for two decades was a professor of health education at East Carolina University. He has served as a mission president, regional representative and stake president.

Elder Morrison, 60, was called to be a General Authority in April 1987, and now serves as first counselor in the North America Southeast Area presidency. He is a native of Edmonton, Alberta, and at the time of his call was a professor and chairman of the Food Science Department at the University of Guelph in Ontario. An internationally known scientist, Elder Morrison is also a former assistant deputy minister of health and welfare in Canada and has received numerous honors for his international humanitarian efforts. He earned a doctorate from Cornell University. He has served as a bishop, regional welfare agent and regional representative.

Elder Porter, 59, was called as a General Authority in April 1987. He currently serves as president of the Utah South Area and as an assistant executive director of the Family History Department. He is a native of Salt Lake City, a graduate of BYU, and was an executive with a financial planning company prior to his call to full-time Church service. He has served as a bishop, stake president, regional representative and mission president.
