"Rise up, O men of God!" the BYU combined men's choirs sang fervently at the conclusion of the priesthood session. "Have done with lesser things. Give heart and soul and mind and strength To serve the King of Kings."
The words were a fitting summary to the messages delivered at the session, urging brethren to honor the priesthood, spread the gospel and serve mankind.Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Council of the Twelve, a former BYU president, clasped his hands and raised them to the choir in a gesture of triumph immediately after the meeting. Elder Richard G. Scott of the Council of the Twelve gave choir members a thumbs-up sign.
Elder Ronald E. Poelman of the Seventy offered the invocation and Elder Carlos H. Amado of the Seventy gave the benediction.
