Dr. James LeRoy Kimball, who was instrumental in the restoration of Nauvoo, Ill., as a Church historic site, died Oct. 18 in Salt Lake City at the age of 90.
From 1963-87, Dr. Kimball was president of Nauvoo Restoration Inc., a project to restore Nauvoo homes and businesses that are historically significant to the Church, and he presided over the Nauvoo Mission from 1971-73. He had been a sealer in the Salt Lake Temple.Dr. Kimball, who received a doctorate of medicine at Northwestern University, specialized in cardiology and internal medicine. He practiced in Salt Lake City for more than 40 years.
