The First Presidency has announced the call of a new mission president in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. Owen D. Jacobsen, 60, Richardson 1st Ward, Richardson Texas Stake; regional representative, former region welfare agent, stake president, high councilor, stake mission president, and bishop; manager of systems support for IBM; earned bachelor's degree at the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Andrew Thomas and Edith Virginia Budd Jacobsen; married Joyce Whiteley, two children. She is a ward choir president, former Relief Society president, counselor, and secretary, spiritual living leader, single adult representative, and meetinghouse librarian; earned bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Oakley, Idaho, a daughter of Joseph Earl and Amanda Beck Whiteley.
