A missionary fireside telecast over the Church's satellite system Oct. 25 will introduce a new missionary video, On the Way Home.

The telecast is intended to be an appealing, spiritually uplifting introduction to a locally sponsored missionary open house, according to instructions from the Missionary Department to help stakes prepare for the open houses. In a recent letter to priesthood leaders in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, President Howard W. Hunter of the Council of the Twelve explained: "This broadcast and open house are similar to The Prodigal Son, which was broadcast Oct. 28, 1990. All missionaries (full-time and stake) and members are invited to attend this event with their non-member friends."

The program will be telecast at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., (MST) and each broadcast will last half an hour. After the broadcast, the local open house is expected to last about an hour. The program will not be rebroadcast over KBYU-TV.
