Brent I. Nash, Oak Harbor Ward, Mount Vernon Washington Stake, called as president of the Seattle Temple, succeeding Pres. Heber J. Badger. Pres. Nash's wife, Beverly Bell Nash, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Nash is a dentist. He served as chairman of the Seattle Temple committee, president of the Australia Sydney Mission, and as regional representative, stake president twice, stake choir director and temple sealer. A dentist, he received a bachelor's degree from Utah State University, and a doctorate in dentistry from the University of Washington, where he later served on the faculty. Born in Linrose, Idaho, to D. Ariel and Ruby Ensign Smith Nash. Sister Nash is a former stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, Young Women adviser, and Primary and Sunday School teacher. Born in Mink Creek, Idaho, to Theo James and Edith Larsen Bell.
Floyd L. Packard, Carlsbad 4th Ward, Carlsbad California Stake, called as the first president of the new San Diego California Temple that is nearing completion. Pres. Packard's wife, Alice Earl Packard, will be temple matron. Pres. Packard is vice chairman of the San Diego Temple Committee and a sealer in the Los Angeles Temple. He is former president of the Florida Tallahassee Mission, regional representative, stake president, bishop and branch president. He is a dentist who attended BYU and received his dental degree from the University of Oregon Dental School. Born in Nampa, Idaho, to Forrest LeRoy and Esther Carter Packard. Sister Packard, an ordinance worker in the Los Angeles Temple, has served as Primary and Relief Society counselor and president, and as a teacher in Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and has been active in the cultural arts and music programs of the Church. Born in Bunkerville, Nev., to Kenneth Owen and Vertie Ann Leavitt Earl.
