Five huge chandeliers that once hung in the lobby of the Hotel Utah and given to the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City by the First Presidency were officially turned on Feb. 10 in their new home in the Grand Building at the fairpark. Presiding Bishop Robert D. Hales gave brief remarks at the ceremony, attended by some 250 people.
The chandeliers, each weighing about one ton, were taken from the Church-owned Hotel Utah when remodeling work of the hotel began a couple years ago. The hotel, located across the street from Temple Square on the same site as the first Utah State Fair, is currently undergoing major remodeling into a Church and community center.
