Norman R. Bowen, 72, of Bountiful, Utah, president of the Eastern Atlantic States Mission from 1967-70, died Aug. 26 of cardiac failure at Denali National Park in Alaska.
He served as a member of the Adult Correlation Committee from 1961-67, a member of the Sunday School general board from 1971-75, and was city editor of the Deseret News from 1957-67. After his release as mission president, he was employed in the Church's Public Communication Department, retiring in 1985 as director of stakes and missions public communications. After retirement, he and his wife, Donna Jenkins Bowen, served as public communication coordinators of the Hawaii Honolulu Mission.
