The First Presidency has announced the call of five more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:
Alma D. Anderson, 63, assigned to the Denmark Copenhagen Mission; Holladay 24th Ward, Salt Lake Holladay North Stake; bishop of BYU 45th Ward, former high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop's counselor, high priests group leader, seventies president, ward Sunday School president, gospel doctrine instructor; served in Danish Mission, 1949-52; dentist; received bachelor's degree from BYU and doctor of dental medicine from the University of Oregon; born in Thatcher, Utah, a son of Roy C. and Rosella Davis Anderson; married Carol Jean Holmes, eight children. She is a former Relief Society president's counselor, homemaking leader and teacher, Junior Sunday School coordinator, Young Women president's counselor and adviser, and ward organist; attended BYU; born in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Richard Cy and Thelma Daniels Brown Holmes.
Ato K. Dadson, 46, assigned to the Nigeria Jos Mission; Winneba Branch, Ghana Accra District; mission president's counselor, former mission president's counselor, district president and counselor, branch president, and youth adviser; Church Educational System director; received bachelor's degree from the University of Cape Coast; born in Winneba, Ghana, a son of Wonderful and Sarah Aryee Dadson; married Eleanor Empsie Annan, three children. She is a district Young Women president, former district Young Women president and counselor; received degree from Halloway Nursing College; born in Winneba, Ghana, a daughter of William Edward and Patricia Davies Annan.
Homer M. LeBaron, 65, assigned to the Zaire Kinshasa Mission; Greensboro Guilford Ward, Greensboro North Carolina Stake; patriarch, former mission president's counselor, high councilor, stake executive secretary, stake Sunday School president, bishop, elders quorum president, and stake missionary; served in French Mission, 1948-50; retired senior research fellow; received bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University, and doctorate from Cornell University; born in Barnwell, Alberta, a son of Homer Neal and Luella Pearl Wight LeBaron; married Aleene Sumsion, 12 children. She is a patriarchal blessings scribe, former stake Relief Society president, Young Women president, ward music director and choir director, gospel doctrine teacher, ward Relief Society teacher and music leader, and Junior Sunday School coordinator; received bachelor's degree from BYU and master's degree from Ball State University; born in Moscow, Idaho, a daughter of Alma Byrd Sumsion and Evah Justesen Sumsion Stauffer.
Robert L. Mercer, 65, assigned to the Cameroon Yaounde Mission; Marston Lake 1st Ward, Columbine Colorado Stake; high priests group leader and temple worker, former high councilor, stake mission president's counselor, stake Sunday School president, bishop, ward clerk, and Sunday School teacher; served in France Mission, 1949-52; president and chief executive officer of National Potato Board; received bachelor's degree from BYU and master's degree from the University of Maine; born in Spring Coulee, Alberta, a son of James Lee and Catherine Ela Coombs Mercer; married Beverley Knowlton, four children. She is a Relief Society president, former Relief Society president, Young Women president and counselor, ward choir director, ward organist, stake and ward music chairman, stake Relief Society Board member, and temple worker; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Lethbridge, Alberta, a daughter of Lewis Burnham and Josie Green Knowlton.
Timothy P. Stratford, 38, assigned to the Taiwan Taichung Mission; Beijing Branch, China District; branch and district president, former stake Young Men president, Melchizedek Priesthood group leader, branch president's counselor, branch clerk, gospel essentials
teacher, and temple preparation class teacher; served in Hong Kong Mission, 1973-75; minister/counselor for commercial affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Beijing; received bachelor's degree from BYU and juris doctorate from Harvard Law School; born in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Lowell J. and Elaine Taylor Stratford; married Robin Lee Malmfeldt, she is a Primary president, former Primary president, counselor and teacher, Relief Society president's counselor and teacher; gospel doctrine teacher, and gospel essentials teacher, served in Taiwan Mission, 1970-72; volunteer English teacher; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Binghamton, N.Y., a daughter of John Arthur Malmfeldt and Roberta Louise Nopper Malmfeldt Jackson.
