The First Presidency has announced the call of six more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:
Ronald E. Dyer, 56, assigned to the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission; Lakeridge 5th Ward, Orem Utah Lakeridge Stake; stake mission president's counselor, former branch president and counselor, ward executive secretary, Young Men president, stake missionary, Aaronic Priesthood adviser, and seminary teacher; served in Central American Mission, 1955-58; general manager of Deseret Livestock; received bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and master's degree from BYU; born in Navasota, Texas, a son of Grady Earl and Zelma Permenter Dyer; married Myrna Lue Montierth, six children. She is a stake missionary, former ward Primary president's counselor and teacher, Sunday School teacher, Relief Society teacher, and Young Women adviser; elementary school teacher; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Mesa, Ariz., a daughter of Herbert Ray and Linnie Charlesetta Fillerup Montierth.Joseph J. Grigg, 65, assigned to the Papua New Guinea Port Moresby Mission; La Canada 2nd Ward, La Crescenta California Stake; assistant high priest group leader, former president of Nigeria Aba Mission, stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, elders quorum president, and stake missionary; vice president of Southern Marine & Aviation company; received bachelor's degree from the University of Texas; born in Galveston, Texas, a son of Arthur and Lillie Dale Pillow Grigg; married Joyce Carol Briscoe, six children. She is a Relief Society teacher, former Relief Society president and board member, stake missionary, Sunday School teacher, and seminary teacher; served in Eastern States mission, 1950-51, and in Aba Nigeria Mission with husband 1988-90; received bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University; born in San Francisco, Calif., a daughter of Joy Edward and Della Maud Dunford Briscoe. Jorge Mendez Ibarra, 55, assigned to the Mexico Chihuahua Mission; Insurgentes Ward, Tijuana La Mesa Stake; regional representative, former stake president, district president and counselor, branch president and counselor, and Sunday School president; auto business owner; born in Tlahualilo, Durango, Mexico, a son of Garcia Juan and Ibarra Cordova Catalina Mendez; married Bertha Tamayo, eight children. She is a Young Women president, former ward Relief Society president, stake Relief Society secretary, and Primary teacher; attended accountant school; born in Cosala, Sinaloa, Mexico, a daughter of Quintero Guillermo and Padilla Hernandez Engracia Tamayo. Fritzner A. Joseph, 35, assigned to the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission; Petion-Ville Branch, Port-au-Prince Haiti North District; former mission president's counselor, district president's counselor, Sunday School president, and institute teacher, first full-time missionary from Haiti, 1981-83; Church Educational System coordinator; received bachelor's degree from Inter-American University; born in Port-au-Prince Haiti, a son of Cidoine and Francois Licette Joseph; married Marie Gina, one child. She is a Relief Society president; secretary; received bachelor's degrees from Laroche School of Business and Gerard A. Joseph School of Business; born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, a daughter of Jacques R. and Senatus Claire Michel. Geoffrey J. Liddicoat, 49, assigned to the Australia Brisbane Mission; Dianella Ward, Perth Australia Dianella Stake; regional representative, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and elders quorum president; served in Southern Australian Mission, 1964-66; self-employed investor and consultant; received degrees from Perth University and Curtin University; born in Perth, Australia, a son of James Lawrence and Patricia Marie Sweeney Liddicoat; married Lesley Mary Dawson, six children. She is a stake Young Women president, former stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Young Women president, and Primary music director; graduate of Perth Dental Hospital-School of Nursing; born in Paisley, Scotland, a daughter of Herbert Edward and Mary Carruth Dawson. S. Reed Nixon, 65, assigned to the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission; Orem 6th Ward, Orem Utah Stake; Family History Department missionary, former bishop and counselor, financial clerk, Scoutmaster and Explorer adviser; served in Western Canadian Mission, 1947-49, and West Indies mission, 1989-90; co-founder and vice president of mortgage and leasing company; earned bachelor's degree from the California Institute of Technology; born in Los Angeles, Calif., a son of St. Clair and Lyle Glazier Nixon; married Joyce Laura Johnson, six children. She is a Family History Department missionary, former Relief Society president, Young Women president's counselor and teacher, and Primary president's counselor and teacher; served in Western Canadian Mission, 1948-49, and West Indies Mission, 1989-90; attended BYU; born in Grant, Idaho, a daughter of Robert Hoggan and Rachel Edith Butler Johnson.
