"This is not the first such grant to BYU," he said. "UPS has supported this program every year for about 16 years. The company has enabled a significant number of our Indian students to graduate when funding for their education was not available from any other source."
Clement E. Hanrahan, director of the foundation, said, "We are pleased that the foundation is able to make this grant, and we extend to you our best wishes for continued success in the fine work you are doing."
UPS Utah District representatives Larry A. Hunter and Stephen B. Goodrich met recently with BYU President Rex E. Lee to present the check.
The UPS Foundation distributed approximately $9.5 million in 1991.
"Supporting organizations that successfully improve the quality of life for those in need has long been a privilege for The UPS Foundation," said Hanrahan.
