Former BYU All-America quarterback Steve Young of the San Francisco 49ers was named Jan. 6 as the 1992 National Football League Most Valuable Player by The Associated Press.
He also was named the AP Offensive Player of the Year.Young, noted for his running and passing skills, led the 49ers to the best record in the league at 14-2. He also led the NFL in passing with a 107 rating, 25 touchdowns and only seven interceptions, completing 66.7 percent of his passes.
