A serious need to teach and stress sportsmanship exists in the Church. Participation in competitive sports requires the self-control of players, coaches and spectators; all should follow Christ's teachings. Players, coaches and leaders should understand that the negative and intimidating behavior seen in professional sports has no place in Church programs. Two media aids are available from the Salt Lake Distribution Center to help leaders improve sportsmanship: A Winning Season, newly available as a 12-minute videocassette (53259) and The Church Sports Official, a 14-minute videocassette (53019).
