On Memorial Day, May 30, our family was in the kitchen when we heard a news report indicating that Church President Ezra Taft Benson had passed away.
As we commented with sadness regarding his passing while continuing to prepare the meal, I noticed our 6-year-old, Joseph, had a very sad look on his face. It occurred to me that every night in his prayers he asked for a blessing upon President Benson. We were a little concerned how the news might affect him.As I was contemplating what I might say to him, his face suddenly broke out into a big smile.
"That's OK," he said. "Now he can bless all the people in heaven."
My husband and I both smiled at each other, grateful to know that Joseph has an eternal perspective concerning death and dying. - Darryle Grigg, Socomo, N.M.
