Carol Hinckley Cannon, 93, former secretary of the LDS Church Correlation Committee and sister of President Gordon B. Hinckley, died Aug. 27, 1995, in Bountiful, Utah.

President Hinckley was among those who paid tribute to Sister Cannon at her funeral on Sept. 5 in the Colonial Hills 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Hillside Stake.Sister Cannon was born Jan. 23, 1902, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Bryant Stringham and Christine Johnson Hinckley. She married Tracy Young Cannon April 19, 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died Nov. 6, 1961.

She was an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple and was secretary of the Church Music Committee and a secretary at the McCune School of Music and Art in Salt Lake City. She was president of her ward Relief Society and for many years was a member of the Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association General Board. She was a graduate of Brigham Young Academy and recipient of the Brigham Young University Emeritus Club Special Recognition Award.
