President Gordon B. Hinckley
President Thomas S. Monson of the First PresidencyPresident James E. Faust of the First Presidency
Elder Neal A. Maxwell of the Council of the Twelve
Elder Joe J. Christensen of the Presidency of the Seventy
- A powerful session Sunday morning began with President Thomas S. Monson speaking about mercy and kindness and ended with the eloquent exortation of President Gordon B. Hinckley calling for the membership to "move forward without hesitation." The deeply spiritual testimony of President James E. Faust also contributed to the impact of the only general session in which all three members of the First Presidency spoke. The session was conducted by President Hinckley.
Jerold Ottley conducted the Tabernacle Choir, which was accompanied by Richard Elliott. Choir selections included, "Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah," "Oh, May My Soul Commune with Thee," "Come unto Him," "Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer," "I Know My Father Lives" and "Our Savior's Love."
The invocation was given by Elder Kenneth Johnson and the benediction by Elder Kwok Yuen Tai, both of the Seventy.
