Raymond A. Kimball, 76, the first president of the Denver Colorado Temple, died in Littleton, Colo., on March 19, 1995.

He presided at the temple from 1986-89, and was a former stake president and patriarch. He and his wife, Andrus, later served a mission at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Afterwards, he was director of the visitors center at the Arizona Temple in Mesa, Ariz.He was active in civic affairs and was president of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry from its inception in 1965 until 1983 during a period of unprecedented growth in Colorado. He served as a Navy officer during World War II aboard an aircraft carrier and completed his military service as staff officer to an admiral.
