Six more mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and where they will serve are:
John M. Aki Jr., 54, Hong Kong Mission; Kaneohe 3rd Ward, Kaneohe Hawaii Stake; stake president's counselor; former stake Young Men president's counselor, bishop, executive secretary, Young Men president, elders quorum president, Sunday School superintendent, and seminary teacher; state educational specialist; received bachelor's degree in education from BYU, master's degree in educational administration from the University of Hawaii, and doctorate in educational leadership from BYU; born in Lahaina, Hawaii, to John Malulani Sr. and Cecilia Cooper Aki; married Lydia Lai Wah Choi, three children. She is Young Women president's counselor; former Relief Society president's counselor and teacher, visiting teaching coordinator, Primary and Beehive teacher; received bachelor's degree in education from BYU-Hawaii; born in Hong Kong to Yee Shing and Yuk Wah Lee Choi.Viacheslav I. Efimov, 47, Russia Yekaterinburg Mission; Nevskii Branch, Russia St. Petersburg East District; district president; former branch president and counselor; apartment coordinator for the Church; graduated from Electro-mechanical College; born in Leningrad, Russia, to Ivan Fiodorovich and Aleksandra Dorofeevna Iurevna Efimov; married Galina Petrovna Varagzin, two children. She is an institute teacher; former Relief Society teacher; born in Uglich, Russia, to Piotr Fiodorovich and Aleksanra Vasil'evich Varagzin.
Edgardo E. Fernando, 34, Philippines Cagayan de Oro Mission; Plaridel 1st Ward, Malolos Philippines Stake; regional representative; former stake president and counselor, district president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, executive secretary, branch president, and missionary in the Philippines Cebu Mission; operation and maintenance manager in Manila for the Church; received bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Far Eastern University; born in Malolos, Philippines, to Marcialito Andres and Salud Cruz Enriquez Fernando; married Rosemarie Francisco, three children. She is Relief Society president's counselor; former Primary president and counselor, Relief Society and Young Women president, and missionary in the Philippines Baguio and Quezon City missions; received bachelor's degree in nursing from Filamer Christian College; born in Roxas City, Philippines, to Juanito Condada and Remedios Baguyo Balquedra Francisco.
Richard W. Lohner, 56, Switzerland Zurich Mission; Oak Hills 9th Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake; high councilor; former stake executive secretary, bishop, elders quorum president's counselor, Young Men president, priests quorum adviser, teachers quorum adviser, and missionary in the Swiss-Austrian Mission; physician; received bachelor's degree in pre-med and doctor of medicine degree from the University of Utah; born in Zurich, Switzerland, to Werner Alfred and Margrit Louise Feh Lohner; married Sharon May Lambourne, eight children. She is Laurel adviser; former stake Young Women president's counselor and board member, Young Women president and adviser, Relief Society teacher, and Primary chorister; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Sudbury and Gladys May Bates Lambourne.
Stuart R Preece, 55, Missouri St. Louis Mission; Latham Ward, Albany New York Stake; stake Church Educational System coordinator and institute instructor; former stake president's counselor, bishop and counselor, seminary instructor, and Scoutmaster; New York state senior budget examiner for education; received bachelor's degree in history and education from Utah State University and master's degree in public administration from BYU; born in Vernal, Utah, to John Ronald and Clara Noel Preece; married Vicki Marie Williams, five children. She is a member of the activities committee; former stake Young Women president's counselor, stake Primary president's counselor, camp director, Primary president's counselor and teacher, nursery leader, and Young Women president and adviser; attended Utah State University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lynn John and LaVona Marie Mortensen Williams.
W. Edward Seegmiller, 53, Panama Panama City Mission; Bloomington Hills 8th Ward, Bloomington Hills Utah Stake; Sunday School teacher; former stake president, bishop and counselor, branch president, high priests group leader, and missionary in the Argentina Mission; business owner; received bachelor's degree in political science and master's degree in international administration from BYU; born in St. George, Utah, to William W. and Ida Mary Mickleson Seegmiller; married Sheriene Campbell, five children. She is music and choir director; former stake public communications director, Relief Society president, Primary president, Young Women president, activities committee chairman, and Sunday School teacher; attended Dixie College; born in Richfield, Utah, to Milo G. and Alporta Allen Campbell.
