Tiffany Lott of the Leeds Ward, St. George Utah Pine View Stake, is the first BYU woman to earn three all-American awards for placing in events at the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Knoxville, Tenn., May 31-June 3. She took fifth in the javelin throw (166 feet, 7 inches), sixth in the heptathlon (5,589 points) and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (13.64 seconds).
Prior to the national meet, Tiffany was named Female Performer of the Meet and received the High Point Award for women following the 1995 WAC championships.Tiffany, who will be a junior this year, has a long list of track and field achievements at BYU. As a freshman she was sixth in the heptathlon at the NCAA championships to win all-America honors. She won the WAC heptathlon that year and was second in the javelin. She won the High Point Award for women in the 1995 WAC indoor championships after winning the pentathlon and 55-meter hurdles. Then she picked up all-America awards for placing fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the NCAA indoor championships in a school-record time of 7.54 seconds.
Prior to the outdoor championships, she won the Texas Relays heptathlon with a personal best 5,515 points. She was first in the 100-meter hurdles, shot put, 200 and javelin.
