To whom were the first patriarchal blessings in this dispensation given, and who gave the blessings?
On Dec. 18, 1833, the Prophet Joseph Smith gave the first patriarchal blessings of this dispensation to his parents, three of his brothers and Oliver Cowdery. Joseph Smith Sr. was ordained the same day as the first Patriarch to the Church.
