Two new stakes have been created in Iowa and Missouri.
The Ames Iowa Stake has been created by Elder William R. Bradford of the Seventy. The new stake includes the Ames, Ankeny, Boone, Fort Dodge, Marshalltown, and Mason City wards, and the Carroll, Iowa State University, and Newton branches.The Springfield Missouri South Stake, which includes the Ava, Branson, Harrison, Mountain Home, Springfield 1st and 3rd, and West Plains wards, and the Springfield University Branch, has been created by Elder F. Enzio Busche of the Seventy.
Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in Australia and Samoa, and in California, Idaho, Michigan, Missouri and Utah.

AMES IOWA STAKE: (May 21, 1995) Created from the Des Moines Iowa Stake. President - Robert Blaine Schafer, 56, professor of sociology at Iowa State University, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, high priests group leader, and elders quorum president and counselor, married Elisabeth Alice Nielson. Counselors - Dwayne R. Buxton, 56, research leader for Agricultural Research Service of U.S. Department of Agriculture, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, executive secretary, Young Men president, teachers quorum adviser, and seminary teacher, married Mary Barbara Cowan; Joseph G. Cheney Jr., 42, Church Educational System coordinator, former high councilor and bishop's counselor, married Eileen Pratt.
SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI SOUTH STAKE: (May 21, 1995) Created from the Springfield Missouri Stake. President - Robert C. Brusman, 39, owner and operator of convenience center, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake mission president's counselor, Young Men president, and Sunday School president, married Carol Lynn Raymond. Counselors - Stanley D. Petersen, 41, owner and instructor of Ozark Institute of Natural Therapies and private practice therapist, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, elders quorum president's counselor and instructor, and Young Men president, married Vernene Cluff; Mark S. Lovelady, 39, assistant professor for College of the Ozarks, former bishop and counselor, high priests group leader, and Primary teacher, married Teressa Bobette Morisset.
