Missionary work in the Netherlands was going well and set to receive a boost from the publication of a new Church periodical there, according to the May 29, 1896, Deseret Semi-Weekly.

The article said that, according to a letter from mission Pres. George S. Spencer, "on the first of June the initial number of a mission monthly, the Dutch Millennial Star, will be published.

"That distant part of the vineyard is described as very prosperous, and friends in Utah and vicinity who retain an interest in affairs of the old country will be better able, by means of the new periodical, to hear and be heard from than in any other way."

Quote from the past

"When we come before the Lord to partake of the sacrament, in memory of His death and suffering, we witness unto Him that we do remember Him, that we love one another, and that we are willing to endeavor to do all in our power to fulfill our several duties on the earth." - President George A. Smith, in an address given May 10, 1874, in the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
