Blaine Kunz has two words for the "On the Bright Side" feature of the Church News - "Rib-tickling."

"I never miss `On the Bright Side,' " Brother Kunz of the Montpelier 1st Ward, Montpelier Idaho South Stake, said during a telephone interview.Frankly, there doesn't seem to be much Brother Kunz misses any week in the Church News. Each issue, he begins with the cover, then turns the page to the explanation in "About the Cover." He reads the "Question of the Week" and quotes from early Church leaders. He always enjoys the frequent quotes on page 2 from President Gordon B. Hinckley.

And speaking of the prophet, "you need a computer to keep track of him," exclaimed Brother Kunz, referring to page 3 news stories about the Church president's travels throughout the world and his counsel to Saints everywhere.

Continuing, Brother Kunz called the centerspread on pages 8-9 the "cosmopolitan part of my thinking," as it frequently features the Church in various countries. "It stretches my thinking to all the people the Church is dealing with throughout the world - different cultures, customs. Their perspective of the gospel is so refreshing."

Brother Kunz, who lives in a somewhat rural area of southeastern Idaho, said: "The Church News helps me know what I should be doing and learning. It's a very useful tool, and the fact that it comes weekly is another reinforcement."

This "useful tool" is a great Christmas gift to give to loved ones. To subscribe, please see the coupon on this page.
