Children

Children come into this world pure and open and eager to learn. It is our happy privilege and solemn responsibility to lovingly teach them plain and simple gospel truths. (page 23) - Sister Susan L. Warner

Discipleship

A truly converted follower of Christ . . . could not be casual or complacent in his or her approach to service in the Church nor in keeping the commandments. (page 23) - Elder W. Mack Lawrence

The exhilarations of discipleship exceed its burdens. Hence while journeying through our Sinai, we are nourished in the Bountiful-like oases of the Restoration. (page 21) - Elder Neal A. Maxwell

Gospel foundation

Building on that firm foundation [of gospel principles], let us rejoice with each other, listen to each other, learn from each other and help each other apply those principles as we deal with our different circumstances, different cultures, different generations and different geographies. (page 9) - Sister Chieko N. Okazaki

Gratitude

You are one of the noblest of God's creations. His intent is that your life be gloriously beautiful regardless of your circumstances. As you are grateful and obedient, you can become all that God intends you to be. (page 11) - Elder Richard G. Scott

Holiness

Looking up in search of holiness builds strength and dignity as disciples of Deity. (page 8) - Elder Russell M. Nelson

Holy Ghost

A millennium of experience through sight, sound, touch, taste, smell and all the powers of the universe combined cannot approach the sublime and complete experience of one brief moment under the influence of the Holy Ghost. (page 9) - Bishop Keith B. McMullin

Jesus Christ

By learning of Him, by believing in Him, by following Him, there is the capacity to become like Him. The countenance can change, the heart can be softened, the step can be quickened, the outlook enhanced. Life becomes what it should become. (page 18) - President Thomas S. Monson

Joseph Smith

In all of my reading and original research, I have never been dissuaded from my testimony of his prophetic calling and of the gospel and priesthood restoration the Lord initiated through [Joseph Smith]. (page 21) - Elder Dallin H. Oaks

Obedience

We will not be safe until we have given our hearts to the Lord, until we have learned to do what we have promised to do. (page 11) - Elder F. Burton Howard

Pioneer heritage

Our debt of gratitude to our forebears is a debt that can best be paid in service to this great cause. (page 10) - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Repentance

Course correction, along with a forgiveness of sin, is made possible to the repentant soul who comes unto Christ. (page 19) - Elder Carlos E. Asay

Restoration

The dispensation of divine truth in which we now live, in distinction from previous dispensations, will not be destroyed by apostasy. (page 7) - President James E. Faust

Resurrection

The abject sorrow that comes with death, the bereavement that follows the passing of a loved one are mitigated only by the certainty of the resurrection of the Son of God that first Easter morning. (page 17) - President Gordon B. Hinckley

Righteous living

I . . . pray that you will live and raise your families in such a way that you will all be part of this great army needed to carry the message of hope and salvation to all the world. (page 10) - Elder David B. Haight

Sabbath

I know our people would be more richly blessed of the Lord if they would walk in faithfulness in observance of the Sabbath. (page 9) - Elder Earl C. Tingey

Sacrament

With the partaking of the sacrament, we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and obligate ourselves to keep His commandments by covenant. (page 19) - Elder L. Tom Perry

Service

To worthy causes and needy people, we can give time if we don't have money, and we can give love when our time runs out. (page 11) - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Spirituality

We must have personal, spiritual experiences to anchor us. These come through seeking them in the same intense, single-minded way that a hungry person seeks food. (page 22) - Elder M. Russell Ballard

Testimony

More than we can imagine, our faithful effort to offer to our family the testimony we have of the truth will be multiplied in power and extended in time. (page 19) - Elder Henry B. Eyring

Thoughts

When evil thoughts arise - Stop! Think! Control your mind! Visualize a large exit sign in your mind's eye. Immediately change your thoughts. (page 23) - Elder Rulon G. Craven

Word of Wisdom

While the Word of Wisdom requires strict obedience, in return it promises health, great treasures of knowledge, and that redemption bought for us by the Lamb of God who was slain that we might be redeemed. (page 8) - President Boyd K. Packer
