Church-sponsored recreational activities can benefit individuals and families and can bring members of wards and stakes together in wholesome and positive ways. These might include, but are not limited to, such activities as field days, pioneer commemorative parades or programs, song festivals, arts and crafts festivals, speech festivals, sports for individuals and pairs, dance instructions and dancing, camping, hiking and cycling.

Church sports, recreation and health and fitness activities are funded through the Church budget allowance program. . . . Generally, activities committee chairmen submit an annual budget for physical activities to stake and ward leaders.
