Dates for the open house and dedication of the Hong Kong Temple have been announced by the First Presidency.
The public open house for the Church's 48th temple will be held May 10-21 (except Sundays). The temple will then be formally dedicated May 26-27, under the direction of the First Presidency. The dedication will have seven separate dedicatory sessions.The distinctive Hong Kong Temple is in the final stages of construction in Kowloon Tong on the Kowloon Peninsula. The building has 22,600 square feet of area, which includes a baptistry, two endowment rooms and two sealing rooms. The five-story building will have an exterior of polished granite and will be capped with a statue of the Angel Moroni.
The Hong Kong Temple was announced Oct. 3, 1992, by President Gordon B. Hinckley. Another 15 temples have been announced and are in various stages of planning and construction.
