During this year, President Gordon B. Hinckley has relentlessly traveled throughout the world, giving 187 talks. In the October 1996 general conference, the prophet said that he has determined that for as long as he has the strength to do so, he will get out and meet with the Saints - both the youth and the adults.

"I do not enjoy travel. . . " he said. "But I do enjoy looking into the faces and shaking the hands of faithful Latter-day Saints."The following is a brief summary of President Hinckley's 1996 activities.
