Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:

- Gary N. Anderson, 48, Russia St. Petersburg Mission; Logan 27th Ward, Logan Utah East Stake; high councilor; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout leader, high priests group leader, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Central British Mission; attorney; received bachelor's degree in political science and Russian from Utah State University and law degree from the University of Utah; born in Logan, Utah, to Nathan Hale and Eva Fay Israelsen Anderson; married Sheryl George, five children. She is a Young Women president's counselor; former stake Primary president, stake Relief Society president's counselor, Relief Society president and counselor, Primary president's counselor, Relief Society teacher, and Primary teacher; attended Utah State University and BYU; born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Robert Armstrong and Adele Norr George.- Robert L. Bray, 54, Tennessee Nashville Mission; West Mesa Branch, Albuquerque New Mexico Stake; branch president; former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, branch president, seminary teacher, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Canadian Mission; vice president for management information services for Furr's Supermarkets; received bachelor's degree in political science and economics from the University of Utah and master's degree in public administration from Texas Tech University; born in Nevada City, Calif., to Vern Bohne and Murl Hall Bray; married Maryann Savage, nine children. She is Young Women's president; former stake Relief Society leader, Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary president's counselor, music director, Laurel adviser, organist, Cub Scout den leader, and Relief Society teacher; received bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Utah State University; born in Leeds, Utah, to Ross Cooper and Ellen Jones Savage.

- Franklin L. Child, 60, California San Jose Mission; Holladay 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Holladay Stake; stake mission president; former high councilor, stake Young Men president's counselor, stake missionary, stake activities committee chairman, bishop and counselor, Young Men president and adviser, and Sunday School teacher; retirement apartment developer; attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City to Arthur Livingston and Edith Ketty Lyngby Christensen Child; married Patricia Rugg, five children. She is a stake missionary; former stake Young Women president, Relief Society president's counselor, Young Women president, Laurel adviser, Primary teacher, and activities committee chairman; attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City to Harry Earl and Dorothy Hildegard Seeger Rugg.

- Ronald D. Dennis, 55, Brazil Fortaleza Mission; Provo North 5th Ward, Provo Utah North Stake; bishop's counselor; former temple sealer, region sports director, high councilor, branch president, high priests group leader, and Young Men president; professor of Portuguese and Welsh at BYU; received bachelor's degree in Portuguese and Spanish from BYU, and master's degree in Portuguese and doctorate in Portuguese and Brazilian history from the University of Wisconsin; born in Myton, Utah, to DeVere Thomas and Emma Lorina Drollinger Dennis; married Grace Smith, six children. She is Primary music director; former stake Relief Society president, stake music director, Relief Society president's counselor, Primary teacher, and Beehive teacher; attended BYU; born in Cedar City, Utah, to Stanley Abner and Grace Jones Smith.

- Laurel L. Holman, 53, Albania Tirana Mission; Panguitch 1st Ward, Panguitch Utah Stake; missionary in the Greece Athens Mission; former regional welfare agent, stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and Sunday School teacher; retired school district business administrator; received bachelor's degree in accounting from BYU; born in Delta, Utah, to Vernon LeRoy and Arvilla Marie Booth Holman; married Louise Sandin, five children. She is a missionary in the Greece Athens Mission; former Relief Society president, Young Women adviser, and Sunday School teacher; received nursing diploma from the Dee Memorial School of Nursing; born in Panguitch, Utah, to Lars Otto and Wenda Miller Sandin.

- Myron W. Horne, 59, Colorado Denver North Mission; Bothell 3rd Ward, Bothell Washington Stake; mission president's counselor; former mission president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, high priests group leader, Sunday School teacher, Aaronic Priesthood general secretary, and missionary in the Swiss-Austrian Mission; Church Educational System coordinator; received bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Utah, and master's degree and doctorate in education administration from BYU; born in Salt Lake City to Walter Martin and Marie Lillian Palmer Horne; married Patricia Brasher, eight children. She is stake Primary president; former stake Relief Society secretary, Relief Society president and counselor, Young Women president's counselor, Relief Society homemaking leader, Relief Society teacher, and Mia Maid teacher; received bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City to John Franklin and Esther Elizabeth Barber Brasher.

- Alexander A. Nunez T., 39, Colombia Cali Mission; Santa Cruz Ward, Lima Peru Limatambo Stake; mission president's counselor; former regional representative, stake president, district president, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and missionary in the Peru Lima South Mission; Peru regional manager for the Presiding Bishopric; received master's degree in public relations from San Luis National University, and attended San Agustin National University; born in Arequipa, Peru, to Alfonso Nunez G. and Maria Adela Tamayo C. de Nunez; married Elena Alba R., four children. She is Primary president; former stake Relief Society president's counselor, Primary president, Relief Society president, institute teacher, and missionary in the Peru Lima South Mission; born in Caraz, Peru, to Manuel Alba C. and Choncha Lidia Romero S. de Alba.

- Roy Wennerholm Jr., 64, Philippines San Pablo Mission; Alpine 3rd Ward, Alpine Utah Stake; branch president's counselor at the Provo Missionary Training Center; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, stake Sunday School president, bishop and counselor, deacons quorum adviser, Sunday School president, Young Men president, Sunday School teacher, and senior Aaronic Priesthood adviser; chairman and chief executive officer of Valusoft Inc.; received bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from San Jose State University; born in Oxnard, Calif., to Roy and Lauretta Rosella Tolson Wennerholm; married Beverly Smith, five children. She is a former stake Young Women president's counselor, Relief Society president, Young Women president, Primary president, and Relief Society teacher; attended BYU; born in Oxnard, Calif., to Clifford William and Helen Margaret Winiker Smith.
