- Strains of "We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet" filtered from the balcony of the Tabernacle as the First Presidency entered several minutes prior to the concluding session of conference. Most in the congregation joined in for the first verse, as the singing increased in fervor and volume before everyone was seated at President Gordon B. Hinckley's direction.

President James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency, conducted the session, which was a powerful ending to the conference with its powerful sermons and uplifting hymns.

Music was provided by the Tabernacle Choir, directed by Jerold Ottley and Craig Jessop, with Richard Elliott as organist.

Prayers were offered by Elders John H. Groberg and Merrill J. Bateman of the Seventy.
