At the Saturday afternoon session of conference on Oct. 4, the counselors to the Sunday School general president, Elder Harold G. Hillam, were changed.
Elder F. Burton Howard was released as first counselor in the general presidency. He has been called as second counselor in the Europe West Area presidency. Sustained to succeed him was Elder Glenn L. Pace, who previously served as second counselor. Sustained as second counselor was Elder Neil L. Andersen. All are members of the Seventy.Elder Pace, president of the North America Northwest Area, was called to the Seventy in 1992. He served as second counselor in the Presiding Bishopric for seven years from 1985-1992, and was managing director of the Church's Welfare Services Department for four years.
Elder Andersen was called to the Seventy in 1993. He also serves as second counselor in the Utah South Area presidency.
