- Fathers, mothers and children filled the choir seats of the Tabernacle Saturday afternoon, singing beautiful renditions of "Faith of our Fathers," "Mother Tell Me a Story" and "Love is Spoken Here." The family choir, comprised of families from Church units in Farmington, Utah, was conducted by Jane Fjeldsted and accompanied by Linda Margetts at the organ.

President Thomas S. Monson, first counselor in the First Presidency, conducted the session. President James E. Faust, second counselor in the First Presidency, conducted the conference business, which included the sustaining of President Gordon B. Hinckley, his counselors, and other General Authorities, as well as general officers of the Church. A new Young Women general presidency, and counselors in the general Sunday School and general Young Men presidencies were sustained.

The invocation and benediction were given by Elders F. Melvin Hammond and Lynn G. Robbins, respectively, both of the Seventy.
